Day Forty-Five

We Stand Together (Read Proverbs 17:10-20)

"Life doesn't make any sense without interdependence. We need each other, and the sooner we learn that, the better for us all." ~ Erik Erikson

In life's journey, the value of relationships often becomes most evident during times of trial. Proverbs 17 offers profound insights into the importance of companionship and familial support, emphasizing that we cannot struggle alone. This chapter's simple yet powerful message highlights that true friendship extends beyond mere social interaction; it is a source of strength and comfort when adversity comes knocking on our doors. When faced with challenges, the love of a steadfast friend and the unwavering assistance of a brother often provide the solace and resilience we need to overcome.

You + I = We. It's a formula you never want to forget because life is hard, if not impossible, without others having our back. Whether or not you believe in principalities and powers, demons, demonic forces, good and evil, or the devil himself, there is no denying adversity. We can debate its origin and source but deny it exists. We are currently experiencing adversity, just coming out of adversity, or about to experience adversity in our lives.

17 A friend is always loyal,
    and a brother is born to help in time of need.

18 It's poor judgment to guarantee another person's debt
    or put up security for a friend.

19 Anyone who loves to quarrel loves sin;
    anyone who trusts in high walls invites disaster.

20 The crooked heart will not prosper;
    the lying tongue tumbles into trouble.

"God doesn't intend for you to handle all the pain and stress in your life by yourself. We were wired for each other. We need each other." ~ Rick Warren

Do you have a friend or circle of friends to lean on to face life on life's terms? How transparent are you with this group? Friends can only support you when you are open and honest about your trials. It's natural for a wild animal to seek isolation when suffering, but God did not create humans that way. God designed us for relationships, and we need each other. Reach out to your circle today and thank them for being in your center of influence and support.

May God bless your hearing, understanding, and application of today's wisdom.
