Anchored in Peace: The Promise of Christ’s Peace
Welcome to the second week of Advent and our series, The Arrival: Embracing the Hope of Christ’s Coming. Advent invites us to prepare our hearts for Christmas by reflecting on the hope, peace, joy, and love found in Jesus. This week, we focus on peace—the lasting, transformative gift of Christ.
In a chaotic world, peace often feels out of reach. Yet, the angelic proclamation at Jesus’ birth in Luke 2:13-14 declares a profound truth:
"Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased."
This peace isn’t fleeting or circumstantial. It is deeply personal, flowing from Christ’s presence and promises. In this message, Pastor Harold Long explores three dimensions of Christ’s peace:
-
Peace with God: Through Jesus, our broken relationship with God is restored. Romans 5:1 reminds us, “We have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.” His arrival bridges the gap and invites us into reconciliation.
-
Peace Within: Jesus calms the chaos in our hearts, replacing anxiety with His presence. Philippians 4:7 promises, “God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand, will guard your hearts and minds.” Trusting Him brings true calm amidst life’s storms.
-
Peace with Others: Christ empowers us to reconcile relationships and live in harmony. Ephesians 2:14 declares, “For Christ himself has brought peace to us.” His love breaks barriers and calls us to unity and forgiveness.
Advent is a season to embrace the peace Jesus offers—a peace not defined by the absence of conflict but by His presence in our lives. Whatever you’re facing, let this message encourage you to anchor your heart in the Prince of Peace.
